The Wide Avenues of Ferrara |
|
Spreading out in a limitless and aristocratic splendour within the capacious walls of the Este Family's favorite city. This is a wall of the Diamond Palazzo, so-called for the diamond-like design of the walls. Ferrara is just South of Venice by train or highway and well worth a visit. It has a charming medeival Castle with a moat in the city center, a gorgeous Romanesque cathedral, the Palazzo di Schifanoia containing amazing renaissance-mystic frescoes, and, of course, excellent local cuisine. |
